Helping people to design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and approaches that achieve conservation objectives while benefiting local communities.
Our Services
Intervale’s expertise in the community approach to conservation is unquestionably one of our trademarks. We help people to design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and approaches that achieve conservation objectives while benefiting local communities. Our proven, award-winning methods have been recognized by conservation professionals in many countries. Our particular expertise is in bird conservation, fisheries, habitat stewardship, and the human dimensions of wildlife management.
We work directly with resource users, seeking to understand their needs and to tailor projects that encourage effective, culturally relevant, and sustainable resource use strategies. We have developed projects that have helped with the recovery of endangered or threatened wildlife populations and that have affected attitudes and behaviours in positive ways. We have demonstrated that education and participation are powerful and effective strategies for achieving conservation objectives.
Intervale serves as the coordinating organization for the caretaker program serving 16 Important Bird Areas of Labrador. For more information about Important Bird Areas of Canada, visit www.ibacanada.ca
